Vision

The vision that gave life to Miss Possibilities Foundation was formed in the year 2015 when parents of children with disabilities recognized the huge gap in the Philippines for information, awareness and support for people with disabilities. It was this clamor for information on early intervention for young children and education to promote awareness and acceptance that drove the first members of Miss Possibilities Foundation to hold the first Miss Possibilities Pageant in October 2015.

Our Growth

The Miss Possibilities Pageant is the first pageant for girls and women (aged 12 years and older) with

disabilities in Asia. It received recognition from major national print, tv, and online media networks in

the Philippines, such as ABS-CBN, GMA, CNN, Rappler, and The Manila Bulletin.

Thereafter, Miss Possibilities Foundation (MPF) Inc., became a registered non-profit organization

under Philippine Laws on the 9th of March 2016 and aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Raise awareness on people with disabilities and their important role in society;
  • Build the self-confidence of young people with disabilities and celebrate their life accomplishments;
  • Redefine the meaning of true beauty and showcase inner beauty; and
  • Advocate inclusion for people with disabilities in our communities.

The overwhelming response of the public to the Miss Possibilities Pageant in 2015 paved the way for

the Inclusive Fashion Show with Celebrities. More than thirty (30) top-billed celebrities, including Judy Ann Santos, Lisa Soberano, Tim Yap, Team Kramer, and Heart Evangelista, joined this unique show by walking on stage alongside children with disabilities.

The Miss Possibilities Pageant and Inclusive Fashion Show with Celebrities raised enough funds to

enable the MP Foundation to regularly conduct activities and campaigns with the vision to give more

opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities to assist them in reaching their full potential. Some of these activities were:

  1. Media guesting. MP Foundation has been to several media appearances such as DZEC Radio, Veritas Radio, Net 25’s Pambansang Almusal, ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kay Ganda, and DZAZ Radio to promote awareness on the foundation’s vision and mission and its activities;
  2. Medical Missions. Free therapy sessions were conducted and free care packages were given to communities with children and adults with disabilities in the cities of Davao and Manila in 2018 and 2017 respectively. Volunteers, medical practitioners and therapists came together to provide medical services and education to underprivileged people with disabilities.
  3. Donation Drives.
    • One of the charities that MP Foundation supported was the Missionaries of Charity (Home of Joy for the Sick Children) in Tayuman Street, Tondo, Manila run by the Sisters of Charity, which houses children with disabilities.
    • MP Foundation conducted its first donation drive to children and families affected by the eruption of Mayon Volcano during the last quarter of 2017. In coordination with the local government unit and school officials MP Foundation identified one affected community with a number of families with children with disabilities living in evacuation centers. MP Foundation provided household and hygiene kits, canned and assorted baked goods, and medicines to the children with disabilities and their families.
    • In December of 2018 MP Foundation donated to the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines, Inc. (DSAPI) for their annual Christmas party.
  4. Events for children with disabilities and their families.
    • In April 2019, MP Foundation held a meet and greet event with X Factor UK’s sensation, United Vibe at Kureji Restaurant.
    • Pony and Play in April 2019 at El Kabayo Equestrian Center in Clark, Pampanga. This provided them the opportunity to explore, experience, and engage with horses and sensory therapeutic activities led by therapists, educators and experienced child and horse loving volunteers.
  5. Collaborations with other organizations.
    • MP Foundation collaborated with Gateway Gallery and the Philippine Association for Citizens with Developmental and Learning Disabilities (PACDLD) to celebrate the following events for children with disabilities:
      • Children's Month, November 2018 - Boundless: Art Workshop for Kids with Disabilities
      • International Day of Persons with Disabilities, December 2018 - Boundless: Art Exhibit. All art pieces made by children with disabilities were put up for sale.
    • In celebration of its anniversary in January 2019 Sprout Foundation introduced Sprout Art Therapy, a free comprehensive art curriculum for kids.
    • MP Foundation booth during Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines (DSAPI) Happy Walk in February 2019.
    • Autism Angels Walk, a yearly event of the Autism Society of the Philippines together with SM Cares. Pia Cabañero, Miss Possibilities 2018, was one of the hosts of the event in 2019. Previous Miss Possibilities pageant participants, Thara Santiago (2016) and Danica Escasinas (2017) , graced and performed on the stage that day as well.
    • DLD Family Affair in March 2019 for kids with disabilities and kids fighting cancer. It was a day filled with fun games and activities for children and their families.
    • UP School of Economics Fair, a two-day event aimed at promoting various causes and advocacies of each participating organization.
    • SM Kids Fashion Show in May 2019, inclusion of children with disabilities in numerous ad campaigns for SM Kids.
  6. Down Syndrome Bill. Another revolutionary move that MP Foundation took in 2018 was to lobby for the House Bill No. 7140 or the Down Syndrome Bill sponsored by Congressman Luisa Lloren Cuaresma of the Lone District of Nueva Vizcaya. The key features of the proposed legislation are as follows:
    1. (i) Creation of an office under the Department of Health dedicated for the establishment of a system that will help ensure the welfare and well being of persons with Down Syndrome in the Philippines. The Office Persons with Down Syndrome shall supervise the implementation of a research program not only to provide healthcare information, provisions or early and sustainable care and to conduct public educational and information campaigns on Down Syndrome but also research on careers better suited for persons with Down Syndrome.
    2. (ii) Provision for fiscal and regulatory incentives to therapists, developers, teachers and importers of medicines, medical devices, diagnostic kits and other pharmaceutical and nutritional products needed by persons with Down Syndrome.
    3. (iii) Provision for better access to adequate education, medical care, health information, and health care products needed by persons with Down Syndrome.
    4. (iv) Establishment of a system to coordinate a sustainable research and development initiative and resource generation efforts among relevant agencies of the government and the private sector toward improving the quality of life of patients with Down Syndrome and their families.
  7. Webinars during the Pandemic. Twenty-four webinars hosted for parents and children from proper use of gadgets, employment readiness for the youth and adults, puberty issues, home activities on physical fitness and to improve math and language skills, sensory play to parents being their own children’s therapists. These were provided online for free to ensure that learning is accessible for all during the pandemic and beyond.

At present, MP Foundation is working all year round in making sure that the organization’s objectives are attained. Recognizing that there is still a lack of facilities and trained personnel in the educational system to educate school-aged children with disabilities, MP Foundation hopes to establish a school or therapy center for children with disabilities in the future.

For the recognition of the vital role and acceptance of people with disabilities in the society, MP Foundation continues to create and organize events geared towards the full realization of the foundation’s core vision and mission. With every effort put into each of the foundation’s events and activities, MP Foundation is making dreams a reality.

The Pageant

We all welcome the celebration of our differences. Miss Possibilities, a pageant for young girls with disabilities does just that. A

platform for young girls to celebrate beauty in its many forms.

It is an opportunity for girls, ages 12 and above, to showcase their unique character and charisma onstage. In the many years that it has been running, Miss Possibilities has remained and continues to be an avenue where girls feel accepted, celebrated, and esteemed. Walking onstage to an audience of hundreds is definitely an experience of a lifetime and it is for this very reason that the organizers continue to stage this event despite all the challenges and difficulties.

The Miss Possibilities Foundation has been at the forefront of advocating acceptance and inclusion of people with disabilities. Suzanna Pavadee Vichienrut Yuzon, Founder and President of Miss Possibilities Foundation, believes that people with disabilities play a vital role in society, and that they redefine true beauty inside and out.

Miss Possibilities strives to unite individuals by building and growing a community that wholly

accepts, embraces and celebrates those with disabilities. Miss Possibilities is a true testament to the possibility of a world where beauty knows no bounds. A possibility where every child’s dream can become a reality.
